COURSE NARRATIVE
The SPAN 306 class fulfilled MLO 1 and 3. This class provided me rich knowledge about history and cultures of Latin America. Furthermore, I learned new vocabulary words that improved my writing and language skills. Dr. Fernández taught us about the different Pre -Columbian civilizations settled in Latin America. For example: the Olmecs, Aztecs, Quechuas, etc. In addition, I learned about their art, architecture, social structure and principal activities for living. Later, we learned about the different conquerors that came to America in order to take possession of the land. Additionally, Dr. Fernández taught us about the different independence movements in Latin America and the consequences of them in each country. For this topic, we had to formed groups of 3 to 4 students and present a topic relevant to a historical event. My group and I decided to present about the different independence movements in Latin America (SPAN 306: Presentation). This topic was really interesting for my because I did not know anything about other countries history. On another hand, we had extra reading besides the textbook that were really interesting. One of my favorites readings was to know about Amelio Robles because he is considered an important figure of the Mexican Revolution. In our class, we had a lot class discussions and debates that helped me better understand the content of the reading and expressing myself. In conclusion, this class provided a lot of opportunities that supported my learning process and improve my skills in Spanish.
The document at your right is a group presentation of my SPAN 306 class. It is about the Independence Wars of Hispanoamerica.
