COURSE NARRATIVE
The WLC 300 class fulfilled MLO 6. In this class, I was able to learn about how to search for information and the different ways of using technology. Teachers in this class talked about the classes offered by the Spanish Major and the requirements to graduate. Also, they asked us to create an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) with the help of our adviser. The ILP helped me to organize my schedule and choose the classes for each semester. In addition, I learned how to create an e-portfolio where I can put evidence of my learning experiences in the Spanish Major. I really enjoyed this class because each teacher of the department of World Language and Cultures talked about different topics such as literature, linguistics, technology, etc. Each teacher shared their personal experiences and how it feels to work in their field of study. I also learned a lot about research and how I can search for good sources at the CSUMB library. Something that I really liked from this class was to meet people that already is working in the field and how they use language every day in the workplace. Furthermore, I became aware of the different schools and programs for the Spanish Major. For example, I learned about the credential program at CSUMB and the requirements I need to get the credential and become a Middle School or High School teacher. Additionally, I was fascinating to learn about study abroad because I did not know that I can take classes in another country. I think study abroad is a good opportunity to interact with other people and put in practice my language skills. To conclude, this class provided me a lot of information about my career and helped me to know more about the different opportunities this major offers me.
